Emre Can 'favours' Manchester United transfer as former Liverpool midfielder's Juventus frustration continues

Italian outlet Tuttosport claim former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is eyeing up a return to the Premier League with Manchester United.

Can departed Anfield on a free transfer in 2018 to join Juventus, but after a bright start to life at the Italian giants, he has since fell down the pecking order and endured a tough life in Turin under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

The 25-year-old has made just three substitute appearances in the league this season and was left out of Juventus’ Champions League squad.

"Last season I played a lot. Especially in important games for Juventus. And I also played well there," Can said recently. "I haven't had a chance this season.

"But now I think, when I come back to the club, I will get chances again.

"I am definitely grateful to Joachim Low. Because I didn't play much in the club and he invited me anyway. Nevertheless, he gave me the chance. That's why I was simply happy that I played again."

Tuttosport claim a host of European clubs are keeping an eye on the German international but believe a switch to United would be his preferred option.

They say Can could be involved as a makeweight in a deal including Paul Pogba.
