'Empty seats everywhere!' Arsenal and Chelsea fans hammer UEFA over deserted Europa League final

UEFA have bore the brunt of criticism over the high number of empty seats for Arsenal and Chelsea's Europe League final showdown in Azerbaijan.

The Olympic Stadium in Baku was selected to host the game in a city on the very edge of Europe, on the border with Asia.

Fans have already voiced their unhappiness over the time and cost involved in travelling the 2,465 miles from London to Baku.

Arsenal were also forced to prepare for the match without midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who won the Europa League with Manchester United in 2017 over diplomatic issues.

Both the player and his club were uncomfortable over the security risks involved if the Armenian travelled to Azerbaijan.

Fans at home were quick to speak out on the situation on TV as they counted up the high number of empty seats in the stadium.
