Eerie photos show Dublin's deserted streets during coronavirus lockdown

These eerie photos capture Dublin city's deserted streets as the capital has been labelled a ‘ghost town’.

When the sun is shining, the city centre is normally jammed with people.

These pictures show the new reality that has taken over in Ireland and worldwide due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Westmeath native Seamus Kiernan took the snaps on Saturday, 18th April.

A lone delivery cyclist is seen going past the GPO on O'Connell Street while in another shot people are seen social distancing as they queue outside a Tesco store in Temple Bar.

He told Dublin Live: "It was strange to see Dublin so quiet for a Saturday evening, usually the city centre would be hopping at that time.

“I look forward to going back around with the camera in a few months when (hopefully) the streets will be back to their usual busy selves.

"It is a ghost town but all going well, things will improve soon."
