A City Beach employee who worked in the fashion chain's Charlestown Square store has tested positive for coronavirus.

Charlestown Square management issued an advice alert on Sunday after being informed by the company.

The worker was present at the Charlestown store between March 22 and 24.

All staff have been notified and those who were in close contact will self-isolate for 14 days.

The store will close for at least two weeks and potentially up to a month.

The Australian Government's Department of Health and NSW Health have both been informed.

"We have been informed by City Beach that the store will be closed for a period of 2 - 4 weeks and a comprehensive deep clean of the tenancy will be undertaken," Charlestown Square management said.

"A date for re-opening is yet to be determined.

"Centre management continues to monitor the situation, and will work with the relevant health authorities and governing bodies to follow all advice and guidance issued with regards to COVID-19."
