Emotional tributes as porter given final sendoff at Dublin hospital after losing battle with COVID-19

This was the emotional scene at a Dublin hospital as they paid one last tribute to their colleague who sadly passed away after battling COVID-19.

Hospital porter Paul Leckie passed away in the ICU of St Vincent's University Hospital where he worked on Friday.

The Dundrum man, who was originally from Glasgow, passed away due to complications from battling COVID-19.

And the staff of the hospital all turned out to wish him a final goodbye in a touching tribute on Tuesday morning.

The funeral procession was applauded by all the staff who gave Paul a final guard of honour as he passed through the grounds where he worked one last time.

The hospital staff lined the road as they all paid their respects to an "unbelievably nice man" who "will be very sorely missed by all" according to touching Facebook tributes.
