Emotional Tipping Point winner tells GMB about the moment he scooped £20,000

A Tipping Point contestant made history on Wednesday after taking home the show’s biggest ever cash prize.

Clive Rushden, a contestant on the ITV show, scooped a massive £20,000 after claiming the double jackpot token while playing on the coin machine.

It was a tense watch as the black and white ‘coins’ fell down to the bottom layer, setting it up perfectly for the red star gold coin to fall, along with the double ‘x2’ token.

As the moment happened, host Ben Shephard screamed: "Clive you’ve done it!”

Clive’s face was a picture as he realised what had happened and quickly threw his fist in the air with joy before giving host Ben a massive hug.

An overwhelmed Clive appeared on Good Morning Britain today to speak about the life changing moment, which he is still trying to digest.

He said: “ I couldn’t believe it, I thought it was someone else. I thought that girl behind me was going to win.

“It’s nonsense isn’t it really but frankly she deserved to.”

Ben, who was GMB’s host on Thursday, agreed that the other contestant was good, but added that “the machine is the thing that decides”.

Clive continued: “It was a humbling experience. Goodness me, what’s happening? As I said at the time - this is some kind of dream I am going to come round from in a minute.”

Susanna Reid then asked Clive whether the win brought a tear to his eye.

“I kind of welled up. I am a bit like that anyway,” he admitted.

A third agreed: “I definitely shouted and screamed more than Clive, on Clive's behalf. I was just so so happy for him.”
