Susanna Reid today paid tribute to Kate Garraway's husband as he battles coronavirus in intensive care.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Monday, Susanna, 49, said she was "sending every ounce of strength" to Derek Draper as he fights the deadly bug.
Kate's rep confirmed the concerning news on Friday, revealing that the TV presenter hasn't been allowed to visit Derek to avoid catching the virus herself.
Susanna said today: "We send him every ounce of strength as he recovers from coronavirus and love to her family.
"We thank all the NHS workers working so hard at the moment treating those who are suffering the virus."
A visibly emotional Piers Morgan echoed his GMB co-host's sentiment.
He said: "It's coming home to everyone, everyone's been touched by this… this is something that affects all of us around the world. we've never had anything like this."
"It's agonising for everybody involved," Piers added.
"We wish everybody the best, fingers crossed everything turns out ok."
Derek is currently fighting COVID-19 in intensive care.
A rep for Kate said: "Kate's husband, Derek Draper, has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
"He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus. Kate, hasn't been tested, however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."
Kate will not be allowed to return to work until at least seven days after her coronavirus symptoms first appeared.
It's not yet known whether the couple's children - Darcey, 14, and William, 11 - are also displaying symptoms.
