Thousands of people jetted home for Christmas yesterday to emotional reunions with their nearest and dearest.
Warren Patchell was excitedly waiting in Dublin Airport for his fiancee Marta Berdisova to arrive from Bratislava in Slovakia.
The Dubliner had a bunch of flowers and was kitted out in a Christmas jumper and Santa hat alongside his four-year-old son Kurt.
Warren said: “We’re three years together. These women don’t like messers, if there’s no flowers you’re in trouble.”
Thrilled parents Fiona and Martin Goulding, from Daingean, Co Offaly, welcomed their daughter Ciannait home. Fiona revealed: “She’s over studying in Toulouse for the year on the Erasmus [programme].”
Beaming Lauren Niland, three, from Sligo, gave her grandparents Romana and Lumir Neznlova a giant hug after they flew in from the Slovakian capital.
