Emotional Ruth Langsford walks off This Morning set after segment reminded her of sister's death

Emotional Ruth Langsford briefly walked off the set of This Morning after a segment reminded the presenter of her sister's death.

The host, who appears alongside husband Eamonn Holmes on the show , was not present in the studio during a call-in focusing on anxiety and mental health.

The Manchester Evening News reports the show's psychologist Angela was speaking to callers who were trying to break their cycle of anxiety and depression.

Half-way through one caller's question relating to anxiety, Ruth left the set and husband Eamonn sensitively explained to viewers that she had to walk off as she is still coming to terms with her bereavement.

Ruth’s sister Julia Johnson died in June following a short illness.

Eamonn said: “Ruth’s just had to leave the studio because of her sister.”

He added she would be back soon but things were still "very raw" for her.

The 59-year-old soon came back on the screen after composing herself off camera.
