A devastated Joe Swash paid tribute to friend Caroline Flack on Dancing on Ice, as partner Stacey Solomon watching in the audience struggled to fight back tears.
The TV personality was overcome with emotion while speaking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby after performing with his DOI partner, Alex Schauman, during Sunday night's (February 16) episode.
Clearly heart-broken by the news of his friend's passing, Joe told Phil and Holly: "It's been a really tough day."
In the footage - which you can watch above - he added: "I just want to send my love to her family and my condolenses."
While holding on to Joe's arm, a supportive Alex Schauman said: "This was really hard for him to get through, to do a happy number when he feels the way that he feels.
"I am so proud of him."
Stacey Solomon, who was watching in the audience with children Rex and Harry, applauded the DOI star while fighting back tears.
It comes after the 40-year-old former Love Island host was found dead in her London flat on Saturday after taking her own life.
From 2009 to 2010, Joe worked with Caroline as they presented I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here's spin-off Extra Camp. The pair grew close and became good friends.
Prior to his DOI performance, Joe took to his Instagram account on Sunday to post a video of himself paying tribute to his pal.
Speaking about her death, he told fans: "I want to send a message to everyone and let everyone know that Caroline Flack was the most amazing person you could ever come across.
"She was funny, super talented, and she had the most infectious laugh.
"I wish that she could have asked for help because there's so many people that love her and I am going to miss her so much.
"We can't let this happen, we can't let this happen to anyone else.
"We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."
Current Love Island host Laura Whitmore also struggled to stay composed as she remembered Caroline during a moving tribute on her radio show on Sunday morning.
Caroline became a household name after presenting ITV reality show Love Island after also hosting the channel's The X-Factor.
Love Island bosses cancelled Sunday night's airing but have confirmed the series will be back on screens on Monday evening with a special tribute to the star.
