Emotional Emmerdale fans praise soap for 'beautiful' Covid vaccine scene

Emmerdale viewers were quick to praise the ITV soap on Wednesday as they aired a scene referring to the Covid-19 vaccination.

During the latest episode, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) was seen getting emotional as he told his son David Metcalfe that he had just had his second jab.

The highly-charged scene saw the two men still respecting social distancing rules as they stood apart from one another, and their characters spoke about making up for lost time.

Fans tuning in at home were delighted with the nod to the vaccination and were quick to tweet about it.

One person posted: "First of the soaps to mention the vaccine #emmerdale," while a second said: "I love this jab talk with Eric and David."
