Emotional Connor Goldson shares Rangers fury and admits he wanted to 'hurt someone' after alleged racist incident

Rangers defender Connor Goldson admits he wanted to "hurt someone" after the alleged racist abuse of Glen Kamara, as he shared his fear that things will never change.

The Europa League defeat to Slavia Prague ended in acrimony as Czech defender Ondrej Kudela was accused of making a racist comment to Kamara.

The centre-back covered his mouth and whispered something in the Finland international's ear, with the midfielder immediately pointing to Kudela and shouting "racist".

Slavia and the player have furiously denied anything discriminatory was said but manager Steven Gerrard has made clear his 100 per cent backing of Kamara.

And speaking about the incident on Friday the Rangers captain for the night shared his own fury and disgust, as he too made clear his belief that a racist comment was made.

Goldson said: "I know that something was said and I believe him 100 per cent.

"That's why I reacted in the way I did. The player couldn’t even look me in the eyes, wouldn’t speak to me.

"I've never been so angry on a football pitch. I'll be honest, I completely lost my cool and for the remaining however long it was in the game all I wanted to do was hurt someone and I've never been like that before on a football pitch.

"There are a lot of emotions around the training ground today.

"Especially after seeing their statement and what they’ve put out - it just disgusts me really.

"It never will get eradicated because there are so many token gestures out there.

"I'll be honest, taking a knee? Token gesture from the higher authorities.

"Take a knee to make it look like they're doing something but they're not doing anything because when these things happen there's no consequence.

"There might be a fine but it's never enough.

"You get fined more for showing an advertisement on a pair of underwear than you do for being racist or having a group of supporters or a player being racist toward someone.

"It'll never change."
