Emotion, Joao Carvalho and transfer latest - What Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi said after Reading draw

A frantic finale saw Nottingham Forest come away with a 1-1 draw from their trip to face Reading.

Ben Watson thought he had grabbed a winner in added time, only for the Royals to go straight down the other end and claim a point through a Tobias Figueiredo own goal.

Here is what Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi had to say after the game.

Does that feel like a defeat, with the way the game ended?

“It is not easy to talk about the emotion of this game.

“We started very well. We controlled the first half and deserved to score.

“We suffered more in the second half.

“But when you are lucky to score at the end of the game, it should be done.

“Unfortunately not. This is the fate.

“One point, I think, is a fair result in the end.

“To take three points here is not easy.

“Unfortunately, we just got one. But I try to be positive with the players, with the team, with the guys, because the dressing room was down, like me.

“One point is one point.

“We need to win the next two games at home.”

There was just that one attack at the end which you couldn’t see out…

“Yes. But maybe the referee could whistle for the end of the game immediately after (Watson’s goal).

“But that was the fate.

"The boys played well, with a very good mentality, it was just that one mistake.”

Should you have been two or three up at half-time?

“Yes, exactly.

“I think it is the first time we have so controlled an away game like that.

“We deserved to score, but we didn’t score.

“The second half was different. Reading started more aggressive and more high up the pitch. They had some chances to score.

“At the end, it is a big disappointment and we are upset, but I think it is a fair result.

“But when you are lucky to score at the end of the game, it is over, it is done. You must close the game.”

Three points would have made a big difference for putting pressure on the top two, wouldn’t they?

“Exactly.

“I am so upset for the boys because they worked so hard. They run, they fight, they respect the plan - and the plan was perfect.

“I am so upset for them.”

Was it just a selection choice to leave out Joao Carvalho, Alfa Semedo and Jack Robinson?

“Alfa Semedo became a father two days ago, so he is with his wife and daughter.

“Robinson and Carvalho, and Bostock, Mir and Muric, it was just a choice from myself.”

Is anything close to happening for January incomings or outgoings?

“I am still thinking about the game.

“Perhaps the club could give some good news.

“But nobody has told me anything until now. But maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow, maybe before Luton, before the second game against Reading, I don’t know. We will see.”
