Ted Lasso has swept seven awards at the Emmys including best comedy series and best actor.
The comedy drama about a small-time coach hired to train a professional football team has been met with rave reviews since it began last summer.
And while there are gags aplenty, it's the surprisingly heartfelt moments that really give the show its edge.
One scene in particular involves Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis, recalling a memory of a childhood dog at a news conference.
The clip from the start of series two is a two minute long monologue from Ted about a neighbour's dog that bit him when he was a toddler. In it he explains that this initial bite resulted in a fear of dogs that lasted until he was in high school.
That was until his neighbour began neglecting the dog that had bit Ted years previously.
"So I started looking after him, " says Ted. "Feeding him, taking him on walks, playing fetch - all that fun stuff."
After the neighbour is moved into a care home Ted is asked if he would keep the dog, to which he replied "heck yeah".
Ted then goes on to remember that only a few years later he is forced to put the dog to sleep.
The scene ends on a powerful thought that has resonated with viewers, many of which recalling their own experience of losing a beloved pet.
Ted says: "It's funny to think about the things in your life that can make you cry just knowing that they existed and then become the same thing that makes you cry knowing that they are now gone.
"I think those things come into our lives to help us get from one place to a better one."
Many viewers were moved to tears by their story with one commenting: "Ah dang it, this dust is in my eyes again."
While another said simply "That gets me right in the feels."
Another shared that they had recently had to say goodbye to their own dog and that they were binging the series for comfort.
Ted Lasso is available to watch in the UK on Apple TV.
