Emmerdale villain Pierce brutally attacks Vanessa as she almost escapes kidnap horror

Emmerdale's Vanessa Woodfield paid for her attempt to flee kidnapper Pierce Harris in a brutal attack on Friday night.

She was throttled and and thrown around by the killer, as she fought back and tried to escape.

At one point it looked as though she was going to attack him with a knife as she finally got free of her ties, after being bound to the kitchen cupboard.

But Pierce caught her out and grabbed her before they began to tussle, leading to a brutal attack.

While Vanessa survived the ordeal, Pierce made it clear she shouldn't make any other attempts to flee his clutches.

Earlier on in the episode, she was almost found by her sister Tracy Metcalfe.

Tracy was walking the dog who had run into the front garden of the house where killer Pierce has been hiding.

No one in the village, including his ex Rhona Goskirk who he raped in 2017, knows he's out of prison.

They also have no idea he is the real killer of Graham Foster, but Vanessa now knows the deadly truth.

As Tracy tried to pull Cheryl the dog out of the garden, she kept barking and Tracy could hear something coming from the house.

She ended up putting it down to pipes, knowing the house was supposedly empty, before fleeing again.

Vanessa screamed out when she heard her sister outside the house, hence Tracy hearing noises.

But Pierce warned her to stay quiet, refusing to let her go if she didn't do as he said.

Later, she and Vanessa's partner Charity Dingle learned via text that a missing Vanessa was in fact in Paris with son Johnny.

Of course fans know Pierce sent the text, and she and Johnny are being held hostage in the house.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
