Emmerdale viewers spot problem with police as they list Caleb push suspects

Emmerdale viewers were distinctly unimpressed with the detectives investigating the attempted murder of Caleb Miligan.

Who pushed Caleb off a cliff? Emmerdale fans look closer to solving whodunnit than Hotten CID's DS Raveley (Shakil Hussain) DC Croft (Levi Heaton) who seem to be pursuing the guilty party like Clouseau rather than Columbo.

To be fair, the defective detectives have their work cut out. Given the number of villagers Caleb has managed to upset, the list of suspects who could have weaponised gravity against this unwelcome offcumden.

But their unrealistic methods haven't passed muster with some Emmerdale viewers. Like interrogating Cain by the coffee machine in the hospital or Leyla in The Woolpack with drinkers within earshot.

The police had a list of suspects they questioned, in the pub mostly, including:

  • Leyla
  • Will
  • Mack
  • Cain

@AgathaCrisply commented: "Of course it's normal to question someone in the local pub. FFS."

@MegWarr09285908: said: "Who holds a police interview in the pub? WTF, Emmerdale. Hotten police are s***"

@katemackay55 commented: "God, Emmerdale. Police and scriptwriters are ridiculous. No forensic evidence, just gossip and innuendo is enough to get you nicked for murder [sic]."

@pam_debeauvoir added: "How many people will the clueless detective arrest before he arrests the real culprit....Monty the dog."

And some have called for the return of Emmerdale bobby PC Mike Swirling.

@JDavvyy commented: "I can't divulge any information; it's common knowledge. Get Swirling on the case

@asupergav: "DC looks a bit green. Where’s Swirling?"
