Emmerdale viewers in disbelief as 'dead' character returns

Emmerdale viewers were shocked to discover Jamie Tate would be returning to the village.

As eight-year-old Millie was late to visit, Kim met her other grandmother to discover where she had gone. Hazel was shortly found in a hospital bed with the reason for her being there sending shockwaves through the village.

She admitted her injuries weren't the cause of an accident but by the hands of Jamie Tate who was long thought to be dead. Kim thought she successfully poisoned her son a year prior but it was a part of his plan to leave the village after faking his own death.

Hazel told Kim he had been staying with her the entire time in secret to get away from Gabby who'd fallen pregnant with his baby. She said he pushed her down the stairs after she threatened to reveal their situation following a disagreement.

Furious, Kim leaves and calls the police. The bombshell news left viewers in awe as they prepared themselves for the once-dead character's return.

One viewer said: "So that’s Jamie coming back next month! #Emmerdale50." Another added: "Wait until Kim gets her hands on Jamie! He’s a dead man!"

A third viewer said: "Jamie's not dead? You mean he's alive?!" A final comment added: "I want a Kim and Jamie showdown!!!"

Kim returned home to process the news but found herself destroying the furniture in anger. Shortly after she smashed up anything that wasn't nailed down, the police arrived to discuss the situation. After they found CCTV footage of Jamie's latest movements, Kim realised her fears had come true.
