Emmerdale viewers disgusted as Jacob and Maya frame Liv to cover up affair

Emmerdale viewers were raging over Maya Stepney’s disgusting actions towards Liv Flaherty, after she discovered her fling with teenage stepson Jacob Gallagher.

Liv’s boyfriend Jacob has been groomed by his stepmother Maya, and teacher, for months.

He dumped Liv on Thursday after growing guilty, only using their relationship to cover his tracks with dad David’s partner Maya.

In dramatic scenes, Liv decided to confront Jacob for ending things with her without any reason, before stumbling across the pair having just slept together.

Viewers hoped this meant the plot was coming to an end, with the shocking ordeal finally exposed.

But Maya had other ideas, encouraging Jacob to turn on Liv as a means of keeping their romance hidden.

In a cruel twist, Maya threatened Liv to stay quiet, threatening her school performance, but Liv wasn’t taking the bait and revealed her plans to have her arrested.

Liv referenced her late father Gordon’s own crimes, after he abused her brother Aaron when he was growing up and was sent to prison.

But this didn’t deter Maya, and she stepped up her campaign against Liv, using her addiction to alcohol in devastating scenes.

The teen began abusing alcohol last year as she struggled to cope, but she has since managed to get back on track, overcoming her demons.

Viewers were horrified to see Maya and Jacob target her, setting her up and claiming she and Jacob broke up because she had relapsed.

After David noticed alcohol missing from the store room, Maya claimed Liv had taken it and was drinking again, hiding it from those around her.

Maya relished in telling Liv that she and Jacob told his dad that she was drinking again, with him believing them, and that if she told anyone about their affair they would convince everyone this was the case.

Fans took to Twitter to air their disgust for Maya, unable to believe she, and even Jacob, would stoop that low.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
