Emmerdale viewers all took to Twitter to make the same joke during Wednesday night's episode which saw Mandy and Paul make a bombshell announcement.
At last, it was revealed to Vinny that Paul, who he thought was called Alex, is actually his dad.
Desperate to tell Vinny the truth, Paul said: "I am your father."
Predictably, Star Wars memes flooded the Emmerdale hashtag on Twitter as viewers compared him to Darth Vader saying: "I am your father," one of the most famous lines in the iconic film.
One viewer wrote: " @emmerdale : Paul (Alex) to Vinnie: I'm ya Dad! Star Wars did it better! #emmerdale #StarWars #Skywalker #DarthVader #Dingles ".
"'Me name's Paul, and I'm your father' feels like a Star Wars moment. (Vinnie seems like a villain to Mandy anyway ) #emmerdale " joked another.
Horrified Vinny asked Paul when he planned to tell him and why he lied, pretending to be someone else and using a fake name.
Vinny also compared Paul's announcement to "the Star Wars bit".
Paul tried to blame Mandy for his fractured relationship with Paul, after Mandy refused to let him see his son, lying and pretending Vinny was not around.
But an emotional Mandy explained that she had her reasons - Paul was a gambling addict who left Mandy with Vinny, completely broke.
Furious Vinny ranted at both his parents, asking if they were laughing at him and thought he was one big joke.
"You're both liars and hypocrites - I don't need it!" shouted Vinny, storming out of the house.
"Where are you going?" asked Mandy.
"Anywhere I can be away from the pair of you," replied Vinny, leaving Mandy horrified as she realised how heartbroken he was.
Vinny went missing, with frantic Mandy trying to track him down as the darkness settled.
Paul returned after searching for him, but to no avail.
Mandy rounded on him, blaming him for the argument and for making Vinny disappear.
"Look what you've done. He's gone, and we could have lost him for good," she spat.
Where is Vinny, and will he ever return after finding out about all the lies?
