Emmerdale stars pay emotional tribute after soap favourite is killed off

Emmerdale actor Simon Lennon who played Ben Tucker in the soap has shared a heartfelt goodbye after leaving the Dales.

Thursday's hour-long episode saw killer Meena Jutla claim her third victim, fatally attacking Ben with a kayak oar.

Simon joined the show in September 2020, when he was introduced as Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) new love interest.

His fellow soap stars have rushed to say an emotional farewell.

Posting on Instagram, Simon wrote: "And that’s it for Ben in @emmerdale What a whirlwind of a journey. The best year. Thanks so much for all of the love"

He shared a selfie from the dressing room, where he can be seen wearing an official Emmerdale jacket with his name on the back.

Other cast members quickly commented.

Aaron is said to be devastated when he finds out (ITV)

Ash Palmisciano who plays Matty Barton wrote: "Ah the nicest lad in the world and a top actor will miss you so much mate, excited for the future".

Vinny Dingle actor Bradley Johnson added: "Miss you pal!! See you soon"

Joe-Warren Plant, who plays Jacob Gallagher, said: "Love you loads bro xx"

Ethan Anderson actor Emile John wrote: "Well done brooo, you’ll be missed" with a heart and eyes-welling-up emoji.

Aaron Dingle - played by Danny Miller who is currently taking part in I'm A Celebrity... - is said to be devastated when he hears of Ben's death.

Danny recently confirmed his 13-year stint as Aaron Dingle in the long-running soap is about to come to an end.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVHub with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
