Emmerdale actress Katherine Dow Blyton has spilled there will be "fireworks" as Kim Tate locks horns with Harriet Finch.

Katherine's character Harriet is set to confess her undying love for her ex Will Taylor, just before his wedding to Kim.

It could cause chaos on their big day during the soap's 50th anniversary episodes in October, amid a terrifying storm that will cause devastation.

But it seems there could be a showdown on the cards between the women, as Kim learns of Harriet's attempts to win back Will, the man she is about to marry.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, Katherine spilled there will be drama ahead, with soap producer Kate Brooks also teasing "fireworks".

Katherine said: "Harriet is really playing with fire. But you know, it's the last chance saloon and she's got to make her feelings known before he walks down the aisle. And after that, that's it."

On filming with Claire King, Katherine joked: "No, she's awful [laughs]. Yeah, it's good. They're both... I mean Harriet is no Kim Tate, but they're both quite feisty women who are able to look after themselves.

"So yes, there will be fireworks and more fireworks, we should be doing this on November the fifth! Yes, they'll have their moments, definitely."

Kate said: "Kim will overhear as well Harriet declaring her undying love to Will, so obviously that will inspire a lot fireworks."

Katherine then added: "Kim is not very happy about that. Before the wedding, talk about timing."

The actress also touched on the big 50th episodes, and appeared to confirm she would be caught up in a stunt of sorts.

With a devastating windstorm changing lives and the village forever, it's said everyone is involved as lives are on the line.

Teasing her own involvement, Katherine said: "I'm sure it's gonna be very exciting. I mean, I've only just read the scripts.

"I haven't actually started filming my contribution, it's just sort of the build up to it. But I've never really done big stunts, so that's going to be exciting being involved in that.

"It's always exciting. Being outside and getting thrown around…I'm sure it's gonna be very exciting. And I'm not quite there yet."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
