Emmerdale actress Susan Cookson has revealed that her character Wendy Posner will struggle in the aftermath of her son Luke's bombshell confession.
Friday's episode of the ITV soap saw Luke come clean about an altercation he had with his abusive brother Lee on the day his sibling was attacked back in 2019.
Lee had been bullying his brother for being in a same-sex relationship with Ethan's flatmate, and when he fought back to protect himself, Lee fell and hit his head.
Understandably, the revelation has some to ask whether the police were right to blame Aaron Dingle's (Danny Miller) ex-husband Robert Sugden for the attack, which he is currently in prison for.

Susan, 56, said that Luke's confession was a "complete and utter shock" for Wendy.
"After everything that happened with her son Lee, she's desperate to get things right with Luke, and also make sure the decisions are right for everyone involved," the actress told Inside Soap.
Upcoming scenes will see Wendy tell Luke that he should come clean as she doesn't think that the information should be kept a secret anymore.

However, Luke doesn't react well as Susan continued: "Wendy sees a side to Luke that is a bit of a shock. Basically, he tells his mum that if she doesn't keep quiet, she will lose another son – and more than that, she could lose access to her grandson.
"That's hard, but Wendy still feels as though she has to do the right thing. She can't live her life based on threats," she added.
Despite the difficult scenes, Susan had nothing but praise for the actors portraying her on-screen family.

"We had a whole day of filming two-hander scenes, just me and Max Parker [Luke] – they were brilliant and very emotional. It gives you a lot of food for thought as an actor learning those scenes.
"Izzy [Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria] is an absolute joy, and so lovely to be around," she added.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
