Emmerdale star Samantha Giles is selling 'magic spells and charms' after leaving soap

An Emmerdale star has started an enchanting sideline in witchcraft selling spells and charms to raise money after quitting the soap.

The money-making idea comes after Samantha Giles left Emmerdale in November 2019 after playing Bernice Blackstock on-and-off for two decades. She had planned to pursue other acting roles but has since published a children's novel called Rosemary And The Witches Of Pendle Hill, in lockdown and now also sells crystals, charms and spells as a sideline.

Our colleagues at The Mirror report the former soap actress-turned-witch has launched a new website selling a range of spells and charms, including an £18 Magic Kit, a £16.99 Phoenix Spell, which claims to help people get over "cruel comments", a £15.99 sell your house spell and a £6.99 Safe Pregnancy Charm.

Samantha, 49, has never been secretive about her love of witchcraft and practises pagan spells called Wicca. She has previously said she used a love spell to meet husband, Sean, 15-years-ago.

On her new website Samantha states: “I believe that magic is all around us; from the beauty of the setting sun to the power of our own thoughts which can create our reality.

"I write and put together handmade charms and spells which enable you to harness the power of natural white magic and make it work for you to improve your life!”

Her testimonials include one from This Morning's Sharon Marshall who says she conceived after receiving a spell from Samantha after six failed rounds of IVF.

Speaking in July last year, Samantha, said the combination of quitting the soap, having played Bernice Blackstock from 1998 until 2002 and again from 2012 until 2019 and then being plunged into lockdown had been tough.

She said: “I felt very low when I first left. I’d gone from seeing people every day and being so busy to nothing. But I had to go through it.

“I knew it would be so easy to stay there forever as it was a great job, but I wanted to try and do something different with my life. I’m turning 50 next year and I knew I’d regret it if I never gave something else a go.

“But during lockdown I made a new routine. I now try and think positively about the future. I concentrate on what I want in my mind and hopefully it will manifest.”
