Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden unveils radical new look after his kids help to shave his head

Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden has emerged with a radical transformation after having his head shaved by his wife and children.

Soap favourite Matthew, who plays David Metcalfe in the ITV soap, has had his long blonde hair lopped off in a 'family effort.'

His wife and Emmerdale co-star Charley Webb posted a video of their at-home salon as the scissors and clippers came out for Matthew, 41.

"It was a family effort," Charley captioned the fun video to the soundtrack of Hair by Little Mix.

In the video Matthew kept smiling as Charley, 33, set to work with their older sons Buster, 11, and Bowie, five.

And their youngest son Ace, two, popped up at the end of the video to admire his dad's shaven head.

"Do you like it?" Matthew asked as Ace gave the new look the thumbs-up.

Co-star Danny Miller who plays Aaron Dingle said: "It genuinely annoys me how many different hairstyles he really suits!"

And Isabel Hodgins who plays character David's love interest Victoria Sugden in the ITV soap said: "I genuinely don’t know if I’m happy or sad!"

"And how are they going to write that into Emmerdale?" wondered one fan.

"Love it," commented another.

"Ooooooh noooooooo I love the longer hair," gasped another fan.

Matthew was recently at the centre of terrifying waterfall scenes in Emmerdale.

The show's much-anticipated upcoming Survival Week featured a waterfall stunt with David and Victoria's lives left hanging in the balance by evil Meena Jutla.

Murderous Meena went on the rampage after she overheard boyfriend David confess his love for his friend Victoria.
