Emmerdale star Charley Webb shares fears for children after Jesy Nelson leaves Little Mix

Emmerdale actress Charley Webb says she worries for her children after Jesy Nelson quit Little Mix.

The legendary soap actress shared her distress at hearing Jesy had left the band this week.

Jesy said she needed to leave the hugely successful group because of the impact it was having on her mental health.

Charley, known for playing Debbie Dingle, spoke to her Instagram followers about how Jesy had been treated, reports the Mirror.

Speaking on her Instagram Story, she told of her fears for the world her three young sons are growing up in.

"I was reading the statement that Jesy from Little Mix put out about leaving the band," she said.

"I felt so emotional reading that and so angry, because I just think about what she's been through since being in the public eye.

"The thought of some of the messages and what some people think they can say.

"It's so weird. It's not normal humans."

Charley said she had received "bad" messages on social media as she urged people to be kind online.

"It's not normal for people to think they can say what they want to someone in the public eye that you wouldn't say to their faces," she said.

"Don't type it on a screen. Be nice. Be a nice human."

She added: "I think some of the messages that I get - and they're bad enough - but the scale that [Jesy] is on being in a girl band, I mean...

"I just worry about my own kids in the future. I really do."

Jesy had been on a break from Little Mix, who shot to fame after winning the X Factor, when she announced she was leaving the band.

In an emotional statement, she said: "The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health.

"I found the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard."
