Emmerdale star Charley Webb shares 'anxiety' over getting her son's signature long hair cut

Emmerdale favourite Charlie Webb has opened up about her "anxiety" about taking her son Bowie for a hair cut.

The 33-year-old soap star admitted to feeling "nervous" about taking the five-year-old for his signature long blonde hair cut.

Actress Charley, who plays Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, shares three sons with her husband and co-star Matthew Wolfenden.

Taking to social media, the star said she isn’t a big fan of change as she prepared to take her brood for a trim.

The star has recently hit back at trolls after the five-year-old was targeted for his looks by cruel trolls who said his shoulder-length hair made him "look like a girl."

The mum of three shared her emotions with her 502,000 Instagram followers in a video.

She said: "I’m getting the boys’ haircut after school, I’m just waiting to pick them up and I’m so nervous."

Charley spoke of her reservations about the appointment, she continued: "I really hate getting their hair cut as I always hate it for nine days.

"I hate change but it will be fine but Bowie wants to go short, so that’s what we’re doing, which makes me feel even more nervous…"

The star admitted she never wants her boys to have short hair.

"The hairdressers are one of the most stressful places I have to go to with the kids in my life because I really struggle with it and the hairdressers always get really stressed as I’m like ‘don’t don’t, not too much, don’t cut there, ooh, that’s too short.' They hate me - I’d hate me” she added.

Despite her reservations, Charley braved the hairdressers, later showing a clip of Bowie's hair clippings on the salon floor.

The proud mum shared a snap of her son's transformation, as she smiled for the camera whilst grabbing a sweet from the jar in the salon as a treat.

The actress appeared to have gotten over the ordeal as she captioned the picture of the youngster's new look, "love."

Speaking of the online abuse her son has previously received, Charley told MailOnline: “I just don’t have time for anyone like that.

“I always find it so bizarre that anyone who be negative towards someone they don’t know, especially someone’s children, that’s bizarre.

“I sort of think that people should think more about what they’re saying on social media.”

The star added: “I mean, kids are growing up with social media being a part of their lives and it terrifies me that people are taking their own lives just from someone sat behind a computer they never met.

“I can’t ever imagine writing to somebody and being negative saying. ‘I don’t like the way you look’. It’s just not normal.”

Charley previously shared a snap of her eldest son Buster wearing a t-shirt branded: “Long hair, don’t care.”

She captioned the post: “I get asked so many times on here why my kids have got long hair. ‘Why don’t you cut it?’ Or, ‘they look like girls’.

“The answer is really simple, because we like it and more importantly they like it. I absolutely don’t feel like I need to explain it to anyone who has an opinion but I just think life would be so much easier if we all just focused on our own lives.

“Don’t let my kids hair worry you. I think people think they have a right to have an opinion because of social media. Maybe you do. But try keeping it to yourself, it’s not important to us what you think of how our kids look.”
