Emmerdale star Amy Walsh opens up about filming 'hardcore' scenes for horror fire

Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh has opened up about filming the scenes for the horrifying fire, which will see the devastating demise of one resident.

The 32-year-old, who plays Tracy Metcalfe, said that it had been a very emotional storyline because the cast knew that someone would be leaving the ITV soap.

Her character Tracy is trapped in the factory blaze after becoming stuck in the storeroom.

"You're trapped in a studio with smoke for two days," she said. "It was like being on the underground. It was hardcore, putting your body through that craziness is hard work."

She said: "It's just been a really sad, emotional storyline because you know someone's going at the end of it."

But Amy also added: "For soap actors and any actor you've got to know that it doesn't last forever."

Tonight, viewers will watch as one resident is killed in the fire tonight.

Amy and Kerry are desperate to get the money to pay off the woman Amy borrowed from back in Belfast.
