Emmerdale 's Harriet Finch struggles with her guilt over killing DI Malone in upcoming scenes - so badly that she asks Will Taylor to take drastic action.
Will is worried as Harriet vanishes, and then panics when he notices a police car pulling up, with Harriet inside.
A stressed Harriet is with PC Swirling as she has been at the station ranting about ‘a body’.
Will lies for her and says she was speaking about the exhumation, and Swirling leaves, satisfied nothing is amiss.
Harriet remains insistent to confess to her crimes and asks Will to punish her to silence her and allow her to repent for her sins - is Will capable of doing what she’s asking?
Will explains to Dawn Taylor that Harriet has gone away on a church retreat, but he is clearly uneasy as he hides Harriet’s mobile phone in a drawer.
Will convinces Dawn to let him move back in due to Harriet’s absence - but he heads down to the cellar where Harriet sits in a self-imposed exile, with only her Bible and some food.
When he asks Harriet how long it will last, and she says she cannot give him an exact answer as it is a question of faith.
Elsewhere, Moira, Chas and Mack try to coerce Cain into a Mother’s Day lunch with them and Faith.
When Faith brings up the subject of Moira and Mack’s mother’s death, she notices Mack seems edgy and her suspicions are raised - she starts digging the dirt.
Moira wants an informal memorial for their mother, and as she heads off with Mack, Faith sneaks into the farm to find evidence.
Moira meanwhile voices her sadness that she couldn’t attend her mum’s funeral and Mack struggles to cover his guilt.
Meanwhile, Cain discovers Faith snooping, and Moira later enters to find a tense standoff between Mack and Cain.
She is is distraught when Cain reveals the truth, as Mack returns to tell Moira himself and a further secret, but how will she react?
Can she forgive her brother for his lies?
