Emmerdale spoilers: Paul viciously attacks son Vinny and leaves him for dead

Emmerdale 's spoilers for next week get dark as Paul turns on his son Vinny in a horrific attack.

Vinny (Bradley Johnson) recently discovered a gambling receipt in his dad's pocket, and confronted him over it, leading to an altercation as Paul shoved Vinny and broke his glasses.

But Paul (Reece Dinsdale) eventually convinced Vinny that he was not gambling at all, and had not relapsed.

He made an attempt to skip town, even writing Mandy Dingle (lisa Riley) a goodbye letter, but Vinny managed to convince him to change his mind at the last minute.

Sadly, unbeknownst to Vinny, Paul has relapsed and is gambling once again.

After a big win, Paul cannot resist risking more and he ends up gambling and losing his winnings catastrophically.

Meanwhile, Mandy struggles to get money together to get a bigger stake in the salon.

Paul cruelly steals Ellis Chapman's (Aaron Anthony's) watch to try and win back his money, and Ellis is furious to find his watch missing.

Paul is forced to intervene when a fight breaks out between Billy and Ellis over the watch, and Paul feels guilty over the trouble he is causing.

When the watch mysteriously turns up, Vinny suspects something is not right, and worried over his suspicions, returns home to investigate.

Vinny finds Paul at the scrap yard and accuses him of stealing the money and Ellis’ watch, but Paul is defensive and reacts violently, lashing out in retaliation.

Vinny is left battered and in pain as Paul bolts in horror at what he has done.

Is Paul gone for good? And how will Mandy react when she finally learns the truth?

* Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
