Leyla Harding will be left fearing that she is having a miscarriage in next week’s Emmerdale.
The wedding planner has faced trials and tribulations in her marriage to Dr Liam Cavanagh after her step-daughter Leanna was murdered - unknowingly by evil nurse Meena Jutla.
The pair have struggled in the aftermath of Leanna’s death, with Liam’s grief driving a wedge between him and Leyla as he took it out on his new wife.
However, after some time and words from the likes of Meena herself, Liam finally mended bridges with Leyla.
When a pregnancy test emerged and Liam came across it, Leyla explained that it belonged to her business partner Andrea Tate but this was a lie.
Liam made clear he was relieved as a pregnancy was the last thing he wanted for their marriage, making clear that he wanted no more children and would feel like he was replacing the late Leanna.
However, unbeknownst to him it is Leyla who was pregnant and confided in her friend Priya Sharma about what was going on and who encouraged her to be honest with Liam.
Leyla decided to keep the pregnancy a secret from Liam, however, waiting for the right time to decide what to do.
Tragically, next week it seems fate takes a different course as Leyla believes she is having a miscarriage.
Despite the difficulty of what she is going through, her first thought remains to protect her husband Liam after the tragedy he has already endured.
However, who will be there to look after poor Leyla if the worst is confirmed?
Elsewhere next week, another villager struggling is Liv Flaherty as she tries to recover from her alcoholism.
Thankfully, Laurel Thomas is on her hand to offer her some advice and encouragement, having persisted with her own sobriety after having struggled with the very same addiction.
Meanwhile, troublemaker Mackenzie Boyd and Ryan Stocks continue with their money-making schemes to sell counterfeit goods.
Neither banked on Ryan’s mother Charity Dingle keeping an eye on them but she is the mistress of criminal operations after all!
Will Charity manage to interfere in what the boys are up to and could she and Mack find their chemistry impossible to resist?
