Emmerdale spoilers: Eric feared dead after violent showdown with cash desperate Sam

Emmerdale sees two characters come to violent blows on the ITV soap next week, as tempers flare in the Dales.

The scuffle comes as the Dingle family’s financial woes continue to trouble the clan in Emmerdale, as a desperate Sam (James Hooten) tries to come up with a plan to make ends meet.

Sam has been trying to find spare cash so he can support his granddaughter Esther after having to splash out on a bust boiler in their home.

Sam has felt at a loss that he can’t provide for the baby and tries to come up with a plan to make more money.

Meanwhile, his son and father of the baby Samson is after taking money away from his daughter by conning Noah (Jack Downham) out of his trust fund.

ITV spoilers have now revealed that next week sees Sam come up with a money-making plan and he shares the idea with Cain ( Jeff Hordley ).

He suggests the possibility of giving Dan (Sam Fox) a pay rise, but tight-fisted Cain replies with a flat out no.

Instead, he suggests that Sam embrace the fact that he is a Dingle and become a bit more resourceful when looking for cash.

His suggestion sets in motion a sorry string of affairs, as Sam takes Cain’s nudge and runs with it in upcoming scenes.

He decides the answer to his troubles is to steal what he needs if he can’t afford it, as per the Dingle way, and decides to try his luck in the shop.

He plants a distraction for Pollard (Chris Chittell) as he steals a bunch of baby supplies, but Pollard becomes suspicious and Sam, who is out of practice at criminal activity, panics and flees.

Pollard is not about to lose his produce to a Dingle and heads off in pursuit of a desperate Sam – but in his haste to catch the thief, he trips and hits his head.

Sam is left staring at an unconscious Pollard with a sense of impending doom at what he’s just done. Is Eric going to be alright? And what repercussions could Sam now be facing?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
