Sam Dingle will be left furious and frustrated on Emmerdale next week when his wife Lydia is arrested on suspicion of running a scam pension scheme.
Lydia's week starts off well when she decides to apply for a pupil liaison job at a local school after the success of her counselling session with Vinny, following the death of his dad Paul Ashdale.
Vinny's mum Mandy encourages Lydia (Karen Blick) to go for it, and she and Sam help coach her ahead of her interview and assure her she’s a born counsellor.
Feeling chuffed with their faith in her abilities, Lydia prepares for her video interview in the cafe, but is horrified when her computer is bombarded with dodgy pop-ups.

Afterwards, Lydia is overjoyed with how well the interview went, but is shocked when a police officer enters the cafe and arrests her on suspicion of running a scam pension scheme.
The Dingles are understandably furious when Nicola speculates that Lydia might actually be guilty of the offence.
Viewers will see a police officer escort a terrified Lydia to the police station, and Sam erupts in anger when he realises who is likely to be behind the crime that Lydia’s been nabbed for.

Meanwhile, Mandy turns her anger towards Nicola for spreading gossip about Lydia’s unfortunate arrest.
It comes after Lydia found herself in thousands of pounds worth of debt when she discovered that Paul had taken out a credit card in her name before he died.
The crook racked up the debt whilst paying for his gambling addiction, and despite explaining this to the bank, Lydia was told she would still have to pay off the credit card.
However, will she be able to convince the authorities this time that she was not the mastermind behind the dodgy pension scheme?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
