Emmerdale set to have mysterious newcomer who will spark havoc in village

An unexpected visitor is due to turn up in the village which will leave the Sharma family shocked as Jai prepares for his nuptials to Laurel in Emmerdale.

The long-running soap will see Jai's (Chris Bisson) cousin and Rishi Sharma's newphew Suni, played by Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana, arrive in the village reports the Mirror.

It has now been some time since Rishi (Bhasker Patel) saw his nephew and he is thrilled when he shows up unannounced at his cousin's wedding.

However, despite this, Jai still refuses to speak to Rishi after he discovered that his father kept the secret of his adoption from him and still won't admit who his biological father is.

Rishi hopes Suni's arrival will help smooth things over between himself and Jai but it looks like the newcomer could be cause more trouble than anything.

Suni is likely to be a welcome distraction for newly single Nicky, played by Lewis Cope.

Executive Producer Jane Hudson explains: ”Suni arrives just in time for the wedding of his cousin Jai to Laurel but it’s Nicky who soon is making the most of his arrival. We are delighted to have Brahm join the Emmerdale family. He certainly hits the ground running as we throw him right into the heart of a big Sharma story.”

The discovery affects the whole family (ITV)

Brahmdeo will be on screen in the coming weeks and viewers will recognise him from ITV’s The Bay while the actor is also popular for his online sketches across social media platforms.

Brahmdeo added: "I’m delighted to join the Emmerdale family. Having watched the show with my mum and dad growing up it feels surreal. I’m so grateful to everyone here for making me feel so welcome. Confident, magnetic and very fashion conscious Suni looks forward to injecting some flair to the Emmerdale village.

"He’s not afraid to be his true self and go after what (and who) he wants. I think what Emmerdale does brilliantly is making sure there’s accurate representation of real people and telling their authentic stories.

"Bringing a wonderful character like Suni to life on a continuing drama is incredibly important to me as it gives exposure to a demographic which is sadly still under-represented so I truly hope to do him justice, and thank Emmerdale and it’s fans for the privilege.”
