Emmerdale viewers have been left terrified for Vinny Dingle after he was revealed to be the secret fourth hospital patient in Thursday's dramatic episode.
Jimmy King crashed his van into the barn, where Paul Ashdale was violently beating Liv Flaherty, and as sparks came off the vehicle, it lit a gas canister and caused an enormous explosion.
Jimmy had walked away from the scene and called an ambulance before falling unconscious, while Liv had tried to help Paul, who was trapped under rubble with both legs broken.
Liv went to get help for Paul but not before he shouted more abuse at her, making her glad to be leaving him to die after all the pain he had caused Vinny and now Liv too.
But she looked shocked as the barn blew up behind her, with Paul rushed to hospital and later flatlining with a heartbroken Mandy at his bedside.
Aaron arrived in hospital to find Liv, and was told her injuries appeared superficial but that she was concussed and needed a full scan, while Nicola King was horrified as she found Jimmy in his hospital bed.
Liv and Jimmy were also taken to hospital, and while Mandy was waiting to be able to see Paul, she was stunned as her son Vinny was suddenly wheeled in.
Sam Dingle explained he had found Vinny unresponsive at the house, the cause unknown - but viewers know he may have suffered internal damage from the horror beatings Paul was subjecting him to.
Mandy was left sobbing as Paul died right in front of her eyes, and Vinny's life hangs in the balance.
Will Vinny, Jimmy and Liv all survive, or could there be another horror death looming?
One viewer tweeted: "there better not be a second death because i just got so stressed at the thought of liv or vinny dying #emmerdale ".
Another added: "Not in the least bit sad about Paul but I’m still worried Vinny will die too #emmerdale ".
