Former Emmerdale villain Kris Mochrie working at posh hotel after leaving soap

Former Emmerdale villain Kris Mochrie has returned to working in the hotel industry.

Only last year, the soap star was the centre of Emmerdale's most explosive storyline which told the dramatic fall out of his character Lee Posner raping Victoria last year.

In a twist, his character was killed off in a dramatic sequence in October last year which saw him bow out of the soap.

Now the actor has turned his hand at helping run swish four-star hotel The Shankly Hotel, in Liverpool.

Kris has been able to bring his showbiz sparkle to the 12million super luxe hotel which will feature on BBC series The Grand Hotel Party on Thursday.

He said of the opportunity: "We are delighted that the BBC and Spungold chose the Shankly Hotel for its new documentary series.

"We all have a fascination with what goes on inside hotels. This documentary will give viewers a fun sneak peek inside the world of The Shankly Hotel and how our guests like to party and celebrate in style with memorable occasions and defining moments in their lives."

The hunk has had jobs on/off in the hospitality business over the past four years.

Kris has also had a number of acting gigs; his biggest role in Emmerdale followed on from his part in Channel 4's Brookside in 2002.

In July earlier this year, Kris caused a stir when he appeared to go Instagram official with his romance with Emmerdale on-screen brother Max Parker.

Rumours have been swirling about a sizzling romance between the pairing.

A source told The Sun at the time: "They met on Kris' last day filming and just hit it off.

"They were cast as brothers and are really alike and have been joking that casting did a great job.

"The boys kept in touch after Kris finished on the show but they've spent a lot of time together over summer. It's early days but they're really enjoying themselves and who knows what the future holds."
