Emmerdale's Samson Dingle feels isolated next week, as the christening of his baby daughter Esther takes place.
Samson will not feel welcome in the fallout to upcoming scenes, that see him encourage Amelia Spencer to give up their baby for adoption.
Ever since he learned about Amelia's pregnancy, Samson has been against her having the baby - and in upcoming episodes viewers see him taunting her over her initial plans to have an abortion.
By next week things haven't eased, and Samson is more distant from Amelia and his loved ones than ever before.
His dad Sam and stepmother Lydia are keen to show Amelia that they will be a part of their granddaughter's life, even if Samson isn't.

Lydia hides presents she has bought Esther from Samson, as she tries to heal the rift and encourage him to be a part of his baby's life.
Teen Amelia softens towards Sam and Lydia when she opens their gift for baby Esther, but Samson feels betrayed when he sees Lydia, Sam, Dan, Amelia and baby Esther together.
With him still torn over the baby and his relationship with her, Samson keeps a distance and fumes at his family for seeing her against his wishes.

Lydia is determined to make Samson see that Esther is part of their family whether he likes it or not, but will Samson come around?
Amelia is grateful when Lydia offers to organise baby Esther’s christening, and she leans on boyfriend Noah Dingle for support.
Noah is thrilled to be included in the absence of Samson, having previously feared he would be cut out.

But this, and Sam and Lydia's involvement, only isolates Samson further in his eyes as he remains apart from his child.
As Samson approaches the event, he begins hearing chatter from inside the church and is torn to realise he doesn't have a place there.
Will this be the moment he realises he wants to be Esther's dad, or could it separate him further from his family?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
