The character has been struggling to come to terms with what happened to her and decided to start seeing a psychologist.

She later revealed she was suffering from an eating disorder as she was struggling to accept the way that she looked.

Priya previously said she hadn't looked in a mirror since she was burnt, as she said: "The thought of looking at my own body repulses me.

"Even before all this, I hated the way that I look. How am I supposed to accept my scars, when I can't even accept myself?"

But now she is set to receive more worrying news as she goes for another check up with her doctor.

Desperate to stop the hospital visits, Priya lies that her skin grafts are feeling better, but at the appointment, she is told that her struggles with eating are slowing down the healing process.

Priya decides to keep this to herself and avoids telling her dad Rishi the truth about why her burns aren’t healing.

Later, struggling in social situations Priya dreads having to attend her own daughter's Christmas concert so makes excuses not to go.

Guilt then gets the better of her and see decides to turn up late to join her dad in the audience.

But Rishi is called away to stand in for an emergency Santa, leaving Priya in the crowd alone and she starts to panic.

She becomes overwhelmed and stumbles away from the crowd, leaving daughter Amba behind.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVHub with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
