Emmerdale's Pierce confirms horrifying plan for Vanessa as he takes her hostage

Emmerdale aired horrifying scenes on Thursday night, as Pierce Harris kidnapped Vanessa Woodfield and her young son Johnny.

Pierce had been hiding away in Laurel Thomas' house, only to be rumbled by a gobsmacked Vanessa who had no idea he was out of prison, and back in the village.

The pair share a huge history, with him having been in prison since 2017 for raping his ex-wife and Vanessa's best friend Rhona Goskirk.

Just weeks ago, after being released, he set out on his mission to "save" Rhona from those who weren't good for her, leading to the murder of her boyfriend Graham Foster.

In the latest episode of the ITV soap, a horrified Vanessa was left reeling as he confessed to the gruesome crime.

He blamed Vanessa for potentially ruining his latest plot, having spotted him in the village.

Fearing she'd tell on him, he instead tied her to the stair post in the house he was hiding in, before leaving Johnny in a room upstairs.

He had also blamed her for coming between him and Rhona all those years ago, suggesting she caused their split - and not the fact he'd raped his wife.

The tension between the two boiled over yet again in the latest episode, with him targeting her once more.

As she begged for her and Johnny's freedom, Pierce said that wasn't going to happen.

It's then that he made it clear she was going to be there for a while, leaving her terrified.

He told her that due to her throwing a spanner in the works of his plan to get through to Rhona, he'd be keeping them both there for a good while.

With her arms tied around a stair post, and her phone out of reach, it's unlikely she'll be able to escape.

But will someone find out what's happened to Vanessa before it's too late?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
