There’s been a big Emmerdale change following the ITV soap’s big Christmas storyline.
Emmerdale's emotional Christmas Day episode included a surprise wedding for Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter), with Paddy having spent several days organising the secret ceremony.
Things didn’t go completely to plan though. Paddy forgot to send invitations out and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) threatened to cause a scene, while the entire thing was nearly halted when oblivious Chas revealed that she thought Christmas Day weddings were a terrible idea.
Sad at hearing this news, Paddy, decided to pull the wedding. Chas discovered what happened and surprised Paddy at the church with the pair marrying.
Following the ceremony, the couple reflected on the day in the Woolpack.
After Chas addressed him as ‘Mr Kirk’, Paddy responded: "Oh! Dingle. It's Mr and Mrs Dingle".
He cited the name change as his final Christmas Day surprise.
Actor Dominic Brunt acknowledged the change on Twitter, simply writing: "Paddy Dingle". His co-star Lucy Pargeter replied with several heart emojis, writing: "welcome to the family".

The alteration was added to the closing Emmerdale credits.
It shows the character of Paddy as Paddy Dingle, cementing his and Chas' marriage.
