Emmerdale's Megan makes emotional exit - and fans heartbroken as she's not alone

Megan Macey made her emotional exit from Emmerdale tonight - and she didn't go alone.

Gaynor Faye's character, who first appeared in February 2012, left the village in the wake of Frank Clayton's tragic death.

Unable to continue living alongside neighbours who believed Frank was guilty of starting the factory fire, she decide to move away to Newcastle.

Emmerdale fans were heartbroken as Megan left with daughter Eliza, much to the anguish of the toddler's dad Jai Sharma.

As he put Eliza in the cab, Jai told her: "I’m going to speak to you every day and I'm going to visit you lots and lots but for now I need you to look after mummy for me."

Megan agreed to hand the reigns of the wedding business over to Leyla Harding.

She then bid an emotional farewell to Frank's daughters, Tracy Metcalfe and Vanessa Woodfield, who promised to come and visit.

Jai was initially fuming was Megan's decision but calmed down and agreed to be amicable for Eliza's sake.

Megan thanked her ex for being so understanding as they shared one final hug before she left the village forever.

It was a devastating day for Jai, who lost control of his business and his daughter in the same day.

Kim Tate revelled in revealing that Al Chapman had bought Nicola King's 1% share in the sweet factory.

This meant that Ellis' dad and Kim now have a controlling stake in the factory, allowing them to make decisions without the Sharma's say-so.
