Emmerdale fans were relieved tonight when Maya Stepney was finally arrested - but there joy was short-lived.
The paedophile teacher, who has been grooming pupil Jacob Gallagher for month, was taken away to the police station for questioning.
Evil Maya continued to play twisted games and claimed she was just being a friend to Jacob and the allegations were a massive misunderstanding.
But the net started to close in as the detectives revealed they had been given a voice recording with intimate details of her relationship with Jacob in his own words.
Running out of ideas, Maya insisted Jacob was playing out a fantasy, then turned the tables on three other villagers.
In a worrying twist, the teacher confessed that she was attacked in the woods by Leyla Harding, Priya Sharma and Tracy Metcalfe.
She said: "I thought they were going to kill me. I was scared for my life. They are the people you should be arresting. Not me."
Maya claimed they were "crazy" and all wanted David back, so needed to get her out of the way.
Breaking down, Maya cried: "Why aren’t you listening to me? I am the victim here."
The police returned to the village and asked Tracy and Priya to accompany them down to the station.

Leyla was also arrested in the shop - and Jacob claimed his mum was lying as he stood by Maya.
As Maya was being led into a holding cell she spotted the three women being taken into custody.
Angry Leyla said: "You want to have a go at us, fine. It doesn’t change what you’ve done. You abused Jacob and now you’re going to pay."
Emmerdale fans took to Twitter after the dramatic development.
One viewer said: "Arrrggghhh I can't stand #Maya the lying, manipulative cow!!!! This had better end well"
"Whats so annoying is Maya actually isn't lying about the accusations made. She's an expert at using the truth to tell lies. Its twisted," added another.
A third said: "Interested to see what happens next! If Maya is going down, she's taking everyone with her."
