Emmerdale's Maya and Jacob reunite as abuser is released from prison?

Abusive teacher Maya Stepney will be released from prison next week on Emmerdale, sparking concerns that she will try to meet up with student Jacob Gallagher.

Manipulative teacher Maya, played by Louisa Clein, was jailed for a year after sexually abusing Jacob.

However Leyla Harding and David Metcalfe are left horrified after discovering that Maya is being released.

Fearing that she could try to contact Jacob, they tell their son about the release but he surprises them by acting composed.

Is he hiding anything? And how is he truly feeling about the prospect of jer being released?

But things take a turn for the worst when Leanna tries to be supportive and Jacob suddenly leaves.

David and Leyla are worried sick that Jacob has gone to try and meet Maya so race off to try and find him. Are they too late

Back at the village, Jacob confides in Leanna about how he's feeling but she ends up leaning in for a passionate kiss.

The teens end up having sex but afterwards, Jacob acts very distantly and leaves Leanna and she is devastated over his rejection.

Leanna later tells Bernice that she slept with Jacob, but begs her not to tell her dad.

But when Leanna throws up after taking the morning after pill, Bernice tells Liam the truth and he furiously marches over to Jacob.

After accusing Jacob of forcing Leanna to sleep with him, he punches the teen.

At the end of the week, the villagers are left stunned when Liam is arrested under suspicion of assault...

Speaking to Mirror Online last month, actress Louisa hinted that a return to the Dales was on the cards for Maya.

She told us: "I think the storyline will almost certainly continue. There are repercussions, no doubt, for years for those characters."

Despite leaving the soap months ago, Louisa is still heckled in the street over her character.

"Someone shouted out 'I thought you were in prison!' the other day. But I'm genuinely thinking it's been only positive feedback," she said.

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, wit additional episodes on Thursdays at 8pm
