Emmerdale's Max Parker lands major new TV role after soap exit

Former Emmerdale star Max Parker is set to star in a new Netflix historical drama alongside another familiar face from soapland.

Max Parker, who played Luke Posner in Emmerdale, will soon be seen in the streaming service’s new drama series Blood, Sex and Royalty. The upcoming series will document and explore the early days of King Henry VIII, played by Max, and his turbulent marriage with Anne Boleyn.

The acting star will appear alongside former Coronation Street fave Amy James-Kelly - who played Maddie Heath in the rival ITV soap. Celebrating the upcoming show, Max took to social media.

On Instagram, he posted: “When life gave me lockdown lemons and an opening in my diary, I was so grateful this came up. And I got to play the OG British bad boy himself.

“Blood, Sex and Royalty comes out on Netflix (November 23) so go check it out. Big thanks to @netflix @netflixuk and @nutopiatv.”

Max played Luke Posner in Emmerdale between 2019 and 2021. Max’s character exited in a major storyline at the time of his exit with it being discovered he had been catfishing Ethan Anderson.
