Emmerdale’s Matthew Wolfenden covered in cuts and bruises as he teases four huge stunts

Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed there is a 'huge week coming up' on the ITV soap and it involves his onscreen girlfriend Meena Jutla.

Matthew, who plays the role of David Metcalfe, appeared on Monday's Loose Women to discuss the upcoming storyline.

David is currently in hospital after being shot by Wendy Posner's ex-husband Russ as he kept Wendy and Victoria Sugden hostage.

"David does recover and then we have a huge week coming up, which we're filming at the moment, which has something to do with Meena, that's all I can say." he teased.

But Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan was keen to hear more and probed: "I've heard through the grapevine that there's a massive stunt that's going to be happening?"

"There's four big stunts that happen over that week," Matthew replied.

"We’ve just been filming that over the last month, and over the week that it’s going to be onscreen there’s four huge stunts.

"Two of them in particular have never ever been done before on a soap, so it's been a massive block for us and I'm covered in bruises and cuts and it's been fantastic.

"So watch out for that! That's in about five to six weeks time, so watch out for that!" he added.

Matthew went on to tell the Loose Women ladies that he never watches episodes of Emmerdale.

"I don’t really watch myself, that's the first time I’ve seen that," he said referring to a clip shown before his interview.

When the panel asked why, the father-of-three explained: "Because about 10 years ago I used to watch myself and I used to hate myself and come into work and feel really down.

"I don’t tend to watch it but I probably will watch some of the bigger stuff this week," he added.

Matthew also revealed that none of the cast want to be killed off, saying: "We’re all very polite to the boss because we never know who’s going to be killed off next!"

Unbeknownst to his character David, Meena has already murdered two people including Leanna Cavanagh.

Soap fans are now fearing for Victoria's life after Meena was seen getting jealous over David's friendship with her.
