Last week, we reported the iconic pub could be under threat of closure because of the pinch felt from the coronavirus pandemic.

The pub is the focal point of the village and the soap just wouldn’t be the same without the Woolpack. Soap folklore states the venue was first built in around 1776 and is currently owned by relatives Chas and Marlon Dingle.
The pair have recently been looking at the books and things are looking bleak.
Rather than do the unthinkable, Inside Soap reports, Emmerdale viewers will see Marlon try to raise cash by alternative means which might make things even worse.
He intends to double the rent for Ellis and Billy which doesn’t go down well.
“Billy and Ellis don’t react too well to the fact they are going to have to splash cash to continue living at Tall Trees,” a soap insider said.
“It is never good news for any tenant when they’re sprung with their rent being put up without so much as a warning.”
Ellis and Billy threaten to leave which would make Marlon’s financial situation even worse.
Viewers will see the scenes play out in the coming weeks.
