Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter has pleaded for help on Twitter after being bombarded with messages from someone who "won't leave her alone".
The soap star, who plays Aaron Dingle's mum Chas in the ITV series, didn't name the person but said that they "didn't have [her] number by consent" and tried to get advice on what to do.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Lucy appeared incredibly concerned as she wrote to her 255.8k followers: "Can anyone help ? I’ve been having text messages from someone who doesn’t have my number by consent, and who won’t leave me alone !!!!! What do I do ????"
Other Twitter users were desperate to offer her some advice, with one commenting: "Oh Lucy sorry this is happening to you. I had similar happen to me by an unknown person, and when I eventually lost my temper and told them to leave me alone they recited my home address and said see you later. I was terrified. But the police did help so go to them. Good luck x."
While another commented: "I have been through this and it got reallly ugly , Message me if you havnt had good advice. I’m ok now after getting professional help . Hope your ok x."
A third wrote: "Block her on your phone Lucy. And then contact the police who will track the number and issue the person with a warning. If it continues after that then its classed as stalking! Sorry to hear you're being bothered. Get it sorted sooner rather than later. Good luck."
Lucy is yet to reply to the advice, but does not use social media often. Earlier this year, she warned fans about scam calls after nearly falling victim to one in February.
She wrote: "Just had a scam call involving an automated message informing me that my NI number was going to be suspended due to criminal activities!!I didn’t follow the instructions please be aware of these scam calls , apparently there are so many at the moment."
The actress has appeared in the ITV soap since 2002, but has also appeared in a number of reality TV shows during that time, including Soapstar Superstar in 2006 and 2013's I'm A Celebrity.
