Emmerdale's Kirin returns and blackmails Charity over Johnny's adoption

In next week's Emmerdale, Kirin Kotecha returns to throw a spanner in the works with Johnny Woodfield's adoption.

Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) tells Priya (Fiona Wade) that it would complicate Johnny's adoption process if Kirin returned, while they are watched by an unseen observer.

Later on, outside Holdgate, Priya is shocked when Kirin approaches her and asks for money, and Priya tells him she will call the police if he doesn't leave.

Kirin (Adam Fielding) approaches Priya again and asks to see Johnny, but Priya forbids it and tells him Charity is adopting Johnny.

Kirin says there is no way Charity is adopting Johnny (ITV)

Floored, Kirin replies that he will never allow that to happen.

Charity then tells Tracey Metcalfe excitedly that she has passed all her background checks for the adoption process.

Kirin vows to get money from Charity since Priya is refusing, and he shows up to tell Charity he will not let her adopt his son unless she gives him a huge sum of money - and Charity hands it over.

Charity asks her friends for help in paying off Kirin (ITV)

Kirin notices the money she’s given him is less than the amount they agreed, and he demands the full sum by the following night.

Chas (Lucy Pargeter) comes downstairs to find Paddy (Dominoc Brunt) deep in thought about Kirin and he seems set on phoning the police.

Charity pleads with him not to and he eventually gives in and lets Charity access the safe so that she can get the money to pay Kirin off.

However, things turn nasty when Charity turns up with less money than agreed.

Things escalate - but they’re both shocked when Tracy arrives with the police not far behind her.

* Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm
