Emmerdale's Katherine Dow Blyton's first TV role since her character got killed off

Katherine Dow Blyton’s first major TV role since leaving Emmerdale didn’t go according to plan.

Katherine Dow Blyton, 58, played Harriet Finch in Emmerdale until she was killed off in last year’s 50th anniversary storyline. On Saturday evening, she appeared alongside former co-star Roxy Shahidi on Pointless Celebrities.

Katherine spoke to host Alexander Armstrong about her time in the soap. Katherine, played the character from 2013 until 2022, jokingly described Emmerdale as ‘a dangerous place to live’.

Katherine joked: “I got stabbed, I got over it in a couple of weeks and it was never mentioned again. I was involved in a murder - I almost forgot.”

Unfortunately, for Katherine and Roxy, who plays Leyla Harding, they crashed out of Pointless Celebrities in the first round in a category dedicated to words ending ‘...EW’. They were both very disappointed to say an early goodbye to Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman.

Following her Emmerdale exit, Katherine, who has previously appeared in Brassed Off and This is England, is now looking to the next step in her career and is open to whatever opportunities present themselves. She said: “I think I need time to decompress and to re-evaluate what I want the next part of my life to be."
