Emmerdale's Jonny McPherson secretly splits from co-star Natalie J Robb

Emmerdale actor Jonny McPherson has split from co-star Natalie J Robb according to reports, with the pair said to have called time on their romance "several months" ago.

The Liam Cavanagh actor and Moira Dingle actress surprised fans last year when it emerged they were dating, with him having moved in with her during the first coronavirus lockdown.

It's thought they had been dating for three months before this, while the pair have obviously known each other for longer.

But speaking on Lorraine on Wednesday, the actor revealed all on his life away from the soap and appeared to hint he was no longer dating Natalie.

According to Digital Spy, the couple have split and in fact separated some months ago.

They state that while no announcement was made at the time of the split, Jonny and Natalie have not been together for "several months".

The Mirror has contacted a spokesperson for the ITV soap for comment.

Meanwhile, Jonny is now enjoying the company of an adorable pooch named Molly.

He told host Lorraine Kelly how he'd adopted a rescue dog earlier this year, calling her "wonderful".

Jonny explained: "She's lovely. She's a collie crossed with a whippet. I got her from the RSPCA in Doncaster about six months ago. You never really know what you're going to get with a rescue dog, I think. She is an absolute diamond.

"I think her previous owner was an 82-year-old lady who just couldn't walk her anymore, so apparently gave her up in floods of tears, saying: 'It's just not fair for me to look after her'.

"I think she's had a very good upbringing and she's just so calm and sweet and polite. She's the perfect pub dog. You can take her to the pub and she is incredibly calm, doesn't bark, you can have her off the lead, she's wonderful."

Lorraine appeared to reference his split from Natalie, responding: "She's perfect! You don't need a woman in your life, because you've already got one!"

Meanwhile, Jonny confirmed he was back living on his 60ft narrowboat, which he has done on and off for the past four or so years.

Johnny joked of his living arrangements: "[You've got] everything you need. After living on it for about four years, I now feel that if I go to a normal house: 'What do you do with all this space? There's so much!'

"It's seven foot wide, a traditional English narrow boat. So I can barely stick my arms out! It's got a seven foot cabin height, so I can just about get on my tip-toes.

"You've got a living area for watching telly or whatever, then you've got a place to eat, a kitchen and a bedroom. And that's it and that's all you need.

"The beautiful thing about living on a boat is that if you get annoyed with your neighbours, you can cast off and chug down the way!"

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
