Emmerdale's Joe Tate star looks very different as he enjoys USA road trip with girlfriend

Emmerdale 's Joe Tate star looks very different as he enjoys a USA road trip with his stunning girlfriend.

Ned Porteous, 27, who played the troubled character from 2017 to 2018, looked almost unrecognisable in snaps he’s uploading to social media, as he travels along the west coast of the United States with his partner Sophia.

The loved-up couple have been taking in famous sights such as Napa Valley and Yosemite National Park in California, as well as the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Sharing holiday photos on Instagram, Ned revealed his clean-cut look had been replaced with a fuzzy beard, as he posed alongside his pouting girlfriend.

“SanFran,” he simply captioned the snap.

His former co-star Michael Parr, who played Ross Barton in the ITV soap, commented on the snap, joking: “Your beard is fake.”

“Loving the beard, Ned,” one of his 108,000 followers wrote.

“Boys got beardy,” another cheekily added, as others complimented Ned on his choice of holiday location, with some jealous of his travels.

Some fans were concerned his jaunt to the USA would hamper any possibility of him returning to Emmerdale.

Ned’s character Joe was seemingly killed off in 2018, but it was revealed that he was in fact living abroad following his failed attempt to get revenge on Charity Dingle.

Since leaving the Yorkshire countryside, Ned has been spotted in other high-profile shows, including the Netflix drama Bridgerton, alongside Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page.

He played Lord Wetherby in season one of the racy show, and he was the lover of Sir Henry Granville, and the duo enjoyed an illicit long-term relationship.

He appeared in three episodes, and his character was not reprised for the second season, which focused on the relationship between Viscount Anthony Bridgerton and Kate.
